Should the people of America worry about feeding other countries or it’s own starving people?

America has cities with starving people but it seems like the rich want to give all their money to some foreign country instead. Why not give to the country in which you live? Take care of home before you worry about somewhere else?

Yes, we should take care of ourselves first. If I were starving to death I doubt there would be any Ethiopians running to my door with baskets of food.

We should take care of the problems we have here first.

I agree that we should take care of our own, then they in turn can help others. I had an argument once over this, because a person was sending money to Africa. Their rebuttal was “a child is a child.”
One thing about America, is that we are a very giving country, but yes we should do more for our own first.

One of America’s biggest problems is that is always trying to solve every other countries problems instead of taking a good hard look at how our own country is falling apart at the seams. There are so many starving people and below poverty line people in our own country that it is embarrassing.
If people would stop before they send money overseas and invest the money in their own country our country could be a lot stronger and perhaps we wouldn’t be facing half the crisis’s we are right now. There probably wouldn’t be so many people not able to afford medication and housing and maybe even the unemployment rate would go down. I am a Veteran and proud that I served my country but ashamed that so many people forget to take care of home first.

Other countries are overpopulated because of their religion. You people are just enabling them same as giving an addict money for another fix. We invite them to come here but enable them to bring their culture that destroyed their country with them. Just keep voting democrat and someday they will take everything from us.

Personally, the way our economy is right now, I strongly believe we need to take care of our own. (I also strongly believe that other countries will understand our doing this.)
That is my biggest complaint about our country: We are always so busy giving aid to other countries when we have a plethora of families who need food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care. It is my belief that our government should provide these things.
I’m sick of all the bureaucracy that is spending so much $ on “the war on drugs”. It’s time to get smart and save a TON of money by legalizing at least marijuana. The government should control the sell of it and tax it just like cigarettes and alcohol. And I firmly believe that every cent of profit made should go into a special fund that is strictly used for the needs mentioned above.
And to try to prevent as much fraud as possible, the public should have access to the amounts of profits coming in and how it is being allocated.
We are supposed to be a democracy. If people would just start thinking of others instead of only their own needs, this could be accomplished.
Granted, it could and will take time but the public needs to demand to be a part of it.
Just my opinion.
